This is a remarkable tribute to your handsome, loving son. I enjoyed reading about DAvey, his love of cars and his love for his family. Davey, if you run into my Dominic in Heaven, strum him a little "Roller Derby Queen" by Jim Croce on your guitar...I'm sure in Heaven you know every song. I'm grateful someone passed me your balloon so I could learn about you and your mom. We moms stick together in this world of grief and I know you watch out for her like my Dom checks up on me. <3

What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful young man. I am so sorry for your loss and the pain you live with every day, as you know, I know and share your pain. Thank you for sharing Dave with me. I am glad we met and look forward to getting to know you and Dave better.

Thinking of You |

David,
You don't know me ... but I met your mom. Your memorial and photos are a wonderful memorial to an unbelievable young man. My son David is in heaven with you and I hope that the two of you have met. I hope that you are playing baseball or playstation 3 ... I picture heaven to be beautiful fields and wonderful homes ... lots of trees and flowers ... lots of laughter .... Take care of one another ... We love you so much and would give all our yesterdays for just one more tomorrow ... <3<3<3<3

I never knew Dave, never heard his story before, don't know any of his family or friends. But here is what I do know, you're Dave was given a gift with his passing, a gift that has touched as many people that have heard his story. You are prayed for and remembered.
To Dave's Mom, thank you! There are so many people that pass at 99 years old who don't have the chance to change someone's life. The quality of Dave's short life was undoubtedly remarkable!
2 poems I am remembering are to follow just remember your son is with you, guiding you, praying with you, and crying when you cry! God bless!
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not meant to be, So he put his arms around you and whispered "Come to Me". With tearful eyes we watched you, as we saw you pass away. Although we loved you deeply, we could not make you stay. Your Golden Heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
What Makes A Mother
I thought of you and closed my eyes
And prayed to God today
I asked "What makes a Mother?"
And I know I heard him say
A Mother has a baby
This we know is true
But, God, can you be a mother
When your baby's not with you?
Yes, you can he replied
With confidence in his voice
I give many women babies
When they leave it is not their choice
Some I send for a lifetime
And others for the day
And some I send to feel your womb
But there's no need to stay.
I just don't understand this God
I want my baby here
He took a breath
and cleared his throat
And then I saw a tear
I wish I could show you
What your child is doing today
If you could see your child smile
With other children and say
"We go to earth to learn our lessons
of love and life and fear
My mommy loved me so much
I got to come straight here
I feel so lucky to have a Mom who had so much love for me
I learned my lessons very quickly
My Mommy set me free.
I miss my Mommy oh so much
But I visit her each day
When she goes to sleep
On her pillow is where I lay
I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek
And whisper in her ear
Mommy don't be sad today
I'm your baby and I am here"
So you see my dear sweet one
Your children are okay
Your babies are here in My home
And this is where they'll stay
They'll wait for you with Me
Until your lessons are through
And on the day you come home
they'll be at the gates for you
So now you see
What makes a Mother
It's the feeling in your heart
It's the love you had so much of
Right from the very start
Though some on earth
May not realize
Until their time is done
Remember all the love you have
And know that you are
A Special Mom

visiting with you here |
July 11, 2010 |
On a walk with my youngest we paused to take in the love expressed at Davey's place of rest. We are inspired by the care of family, friends and those of us who never met him before this day. Your love is a lesson to my own children and to me. His candle was lit, and so are our hearts. Thank you for a place to talk about Davey, a man we did not know, and the treasure that is loving people who share with us his wonder. We drew closer because of him and you.
